  1 Jun 2026 – St Just in Roseland Parish Council made a commitment of £100,000 to SMART (St Mawes Affordable Regeneration Team), subject to planning permission being granted and a commencement date agreed. This will be funded using CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) monies that is specific to supporting community projects and reinvesting monies locally to support the needs and wellbeing of parish residents.

• MAY 2025

  20 May 2026 – Letter to Secretary of State for Education from local MP lending her support to Community Led Housing project.

  27 May 2026 – Community Led Housing Full Planning Application submitted – Link here – (PA26/03701).

• APRIL 2026

  ASPIRE Academy Trust and Cornwall Council submissions to Secretary of State for Education for release of St Mawes Primary School Playing Field for development as Community Led Housing.

• MARCH 2026

  Heads of Terms agreed between ASPIRE Academy Trust and Gerrans & St Mawes United Football Club for long term use of Football Club facilities by St Mawes Primary School.

• 8 Apr 2026 – 3rd Public Consultation on Community Led Housing in St Mawes Memorial Hall (144 attendees including Local MP).

• DECEMBER 2025

  22 Dec 2025 – Cornwall Council offered further bridging funding by way of a grant payment up to the sum of £24,700 to support the delivery of Early-Stage Feasibility works relating to the Site. (Of this £972 was rolled over from the August grant)

  Heads of Terms agreed with Cornwall Council for transfer of title to School Playing Fields for Community Led Housing development.

  30 Sep 2024 – The Way Forward Public Consultation Survey closes.
  6 Jun 2024 – First Meeting of Housing & Accommodation Working Group. Vision confirmed as: • Affordable low-cost homes for young people. • Majority of house building in the parish contracted out to local builders and housing associations. • Majority of future development concentrated in St Mawes.
  21 May 2024 – First Meeting of Coordinating Group – Terms of Reference for all Working Groups established.

  29 Apr 2024 – ‘Follow On’ public meeting in St Mawes Memorial Hall approves appointment of Coordinating Group and Working Groups. Shortage of affordable housing for locals identified as the single biggest factor in regeneration.
